Joey Scouts
Joey Scouts is the first section of Scouts, designed for young people aged 5 to 8.
The Joey Scout section focuses on fun and friendship, offering a gentle introduction to the world of adventure through Scouting. The program encourages Joeys to explore their surroundings, develop an understanding of the world around them, and connect with nature through activities in their community and the Australian bush.
Joey Scouts are:
• Discovering the world around them
• Building friendships
• Developing outdoor skills and learning the value of teamwork
• Staying physically active through fun, hands-on experiences
• Using their imagination through play and creativity
Young people can join after their 5th birthday, provided they are attending school full time. They transition to the Cub Scout Unit after turning 8 and before their 9th birthday.
1st Alcheringa Joey Scouts meet on a Wednesday night from 6 pm – 7 pm.
